Kiss me frosted wind
Leaving blush upon my cheeks
Winter approaches

Kiss me frosted wind
Leaving blush upon my cheeks
Winter approaches

So prim and proper
Appearance–polished marble
Hiding their hatred
What darkness lurks underneath
Only God in Heaven knows
Ever so scary
Is man’s deceptive facade
Disguising his evil
Making those you think you know
Perhaps your worst enemy

We believe the lies
Drinking in hollow kool-aid
The magic potion
Then morning comes–hangover
Surprised that you have been fooled.
The ads–deceitful
Never had any substance
Yet you watched and cheered
Now, live with your ignorance
May it be all that you hoped

Sand and sea refreash
Soothing our body and soul
Nature at it’s best
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Salvaged hearts still beat
Slower and more cautiously
Afraid to be hurt
What else would be expected
After being left for dead
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Butterflies and bees
Swarm the rainbow of flowers
Falls Thanksgiving feast

Wounds hidden by smiles
Are at times the most painful
Tears stain their pillows
Post-traumatic stress is real
Even though you can’t see it

Don’t you ever weary;
War, propaganda, lying
Corrupting your soul,
Disillusioning our minds.
Done with a smile–
You think us likely to believe,
But we can only be fooled for so long.
Loved ones die for your greed,
Laid to waste in foreign lands.
Brought back with thin veiled honors,
Do you think that flag draped coffins comfort?
They do not!
They cannot!
Tell me–how many barrels of oil is their flesh worth,
A few cents at the pump,
A few more billions in your coffers?
They mean nothing to you,
You do not know them,
You have not held them at birth,
You will not grieve for them when they die,
But you surely will forget them as if they never existed.
You should drop to your knees and beg forgiveness,
Confessing your sinful, criminal ways.
Then again why?
It would all be for naught
For even then you would not be saved.
Such is the price paid–
When the seven deadly sins become
…Your lords and masters.

Masked ghosts and goblins
Dashing madly, house to house
Time for trick or treat
Who doesn’t like Halloween
When chocolate is the prize
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Election day nears
We have an obligation
To get out and vote
People have died for this right
So be sure not to waste it
