Our Stars and Stripes Raised

Our Stars and Stripes raised

After being exiled

For fifty four years.

Ineffective policy

Has finally been ended.

Dissidents upset

Obama is selling out,

They’re completely wrong.

We have embraced the Chinese

Condoning communism.

Where is their outrage,

Aren’t they just as oppressive…

Maybe even more?

Where money and profits live

We’ll always turn a blind eye.

Best of Intentions

Best of intentions

Resulting in destruction

Water pollution

Liquid more precious than gold

Spoiled for generations

Sleep Amongst the Stars

Sleep amongst the stars

Lover’s eyes gaze upon you

What awaits beyond

Air Full of Moisture

Air full of moisture

But nary a drop hits earth

Arid desert weeps

To Be All Knowing

To be all knowing;

Would I become horrified…

Sickened by the thoughts?

Would I share in suffering

Or in humanities pain?

I really don’t know,

Maybe I would offer love

Or a helping hand.

I’d like to think myself brave,

But then again…I’m not God.

Loftiest of Goals

Loftiest of goals

Are nothing without action

Procrastination

50 Word Story: The Vagrant

Dressed in their finest, the mogul and his mistress approached the steps of the marble behemoth.  They were running late for the gubernatorial ball and the inconvenience of the vagrant lying before them just served to infuriate.

Yelling obscenities at his still body…they did not realize he was dead.

The Stage Has Been Set

The stage has been set

Clown car gassed up and ready

Right-wing rant begins

Offering few solutions

To the mess that they started

Frustration Mounting

Frustration mounting

As oligarchs come boldly

Their riches in hand.

Elections bought and paid for…

Secret meetings seal the deal.

Buying candidates,

How much money must they have,

How can we compete?

Sitting idly by we watch

As the slaughter commences.

In revolution

This once great nation was born.

Perhaps it is time

The monarchs retaste our wrath

By drowning their precious tea.

Touch of subtle wind

Caressing suntanned skin
