Life of deja-vu
Pain, suffering, love, joy
Over and over
Isn’t this what it’s about
So why not just embrace it

Life of deja-vu
Pain, suffering, love, joy
Over and over
Isn’t this what it’s about
So why not just embrace it

Weary traveler
T’is this life not a struggle?
Do not thy heart lose,
Greatness surely awaits you
In this world or the next.
Weep not for this life!
In thy pain character’s built
Giving you great strength.
With certainty thou shalt rise
By the loving hand of God.

Shadowy creatures
Thrive in absolute darkness,
What is it they seek?
Are they feasting on my fears
Or do they desire blood?
Real or imagined
They torture me just the same.
This…my illusion
Has become reality,
Whether I like it or not.
The mind truly can
Be such a terrible thing…
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
To be all knowing;
Would I become horrified…
Sickened by the thoughts?
Would I share in suffering
Or in humanities pain?
I really don’t know,
Maybe I would offer love
Or a helping hand.
I’d like to think myself brave,
But then again…I’m not God.

Reliving the past
While destroying the present
This we do so well
Tamping down our happiness
With the pain we so relish
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Sadness and grieving
Go hand-in-hand with love lost
Painful to the core
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
In times of trial
One finds what they are made of
Human fortitude
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Feet cut and blistered
Gravel road their nemesis
The journey of life
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Life altering change
Whether for better or worse,
Unavoidable.
At times they can bring on tears
Whilst at others there is joy.
Perhaps perfection
Does not come without its pain
Though perfect it is.
Everything’s as it should be
In the eyes of the Divine.
We are intertwined
With others on this journey,
Friends, kin and strangers
Struggling to understand.
Who would I be to judge them?
Should I not just love,
Embracing their inner light
And divine essence.
Honoring them as sacred
As I wish to be honored.

What is our purpose
Living this life of struggle
With touches of joy
Fighting to enter this world
Then suffering to get out
In between is life
That can’t be taken with us
When we meet our end
Again I must ask…
What is our purpose
.
