Lazy Saturday
Hot coffee and the paper
Lounging on the couch
Recharging the batteries
After the stress of the week
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Temper your rage toward others dear one
It blinds you and fogs the mirror.
Incapable of seeing yourself in others, hate festers,
Turning gangrenous, unable to heal.
What angers you is that which you cannot admit;
You are Siamese–connected by a tiny spark,
The spark of the soul, beyond our human frailties.
Anger, hate, race, creed, color melt away
When viewed in the brightness of Divine light.
Unconditional love takes up residence
Welcoming the essence of all into her warmth.
With this, differences can no longer survive…
And for once we can live in total peace.

Between birth and death
Lies the place of our struggle
Pain our companion
Yet through all this there is love
Lurking beyond our egos
≈
Unconditional
Many strive to attain It
Though few ever do
Human temptation obstructs
Luring us with its promise
≈
Left to our own wants
This incarnation is doomed
Destined to repeat
Maybe the next time around
We will find the purest love

Living by ego
Stunts communion with the soul
The Divine awaits

“Believe as you will”, you say,
“I can respect that”, you say with a smile.
In your heart of hearts you are only tolerating,
You know they are wrong,
They don’t believe as you do so they must be wrong.
It matters not that we share this same walk together,
They have the same pains,
They have the same hopes,
They have the same dreams,
They fear,
They mourn loss,
They live and die just as you do,
But yet you self-righteously sit in judgement.
Is that what your God wants,
Is that what my God wants,
I seriously doubt it.
If you wish to be judge and jury,
Look no further than the heathen within
And you will find plenty of crimes to punish.

Old, young,
Poor, rich,
Peaceful, aggressive,
Ordinary, extraordinary,
Sick, healthy,
Illiterate, educated,
Timid, extroverted,
Evil, good,
Statements for human segregation.

Country on the brink
Middle-class being trampled
Extinction awaits
Corporate greed at a high
Climbing the backs of workers
Shareholders don’t care
Its all about their returns
Screw blood, sweat, and tears
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Weary from the day
Sunset draws me to slumber
Like a lover’s kiss
Embraced by the tranquil night
I bid a tender adieu
~~Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Sillhouetted owl
Feathers ruffle silently
Who will be his prey
