Living amongst stars
Pulled by the sun and the moon
Child of Heaven
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
In the angriest sky
Peace doth prevail.
Her rains, the tenderest kiss
Baptizing this poor sinner.
Look not upon her in dismay,
For beyond her blackness is light.
A serenity beyond outward appearance
Offered to thee if thine eyes you will open.
All is not as bleak as thou believest,
Thy turmoil is but momentary,
Soon to depart if thou wilt allow,
Affording ingress to a brighter day.

You’re running away
Trying to find your true self
But it eludes you
Self dear one is not a place
Because it lives inside you

Aromatic-bold
Expresso necter of gods
Calls me to arise
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
We sing Auld Lang Syne,
Drink toasts, kiss one another
Parting as best friends
Is any of this sincere
Or just another facade
I really don’t know
Perhaps it’s the tradition
An obligation
Giving hope in the New Year
To the masses of hopeless
Regardless of why
I shall tip my glass with glee
Drink my libation
Kiss and hug as dictated
Joining the hopeless in hope
This is my duty
As a member of mankind
Which I shall not shirk
Performed with an honest smile
And truest love in my heart
A Happy New Year
And a sincere best wishes
Are my closing words
May it be all that you hoped
And greater than expected

Frosted window panes
Stand between me and the cold
Winter wonderland
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Wilting foliage
Struggling to cling to life
Springtime in the wings
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Dawn calls upon me
Her robes, red, orange, blue–calming
Life’s resurrection
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Now this year, it comes to a close
Ending on the wings of The Dove.
What lies ahead, no one knows, but
Yahweh in heaven above.
Each resolution we swear to uphold
And honor what Christmas time brings.
Returning as quickly to ourselves of old,
In our lust for material things..
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
The game is on
And we are the pawns.
We make not a single move,
Our kings are locked in their ivory towers
Each trying to outlast the other.
We revel in the spoils, though surely short lived.
Soon we will be crushed,
The trap door beneath us flung open
And we will be flushed into their wells.
The queens they laugh, laugh with a hideous roar,
Their coffers bulging with our blood and sweat.
Opponents from afar, march onward
Caring not the least for us, their enemies innocent.
Yet we do nothing, we do not revolt,
We do not demand better.
Instead these heathens dangle their carrots
And we mindlessly eat from their tainted hands,
Smiling and gulping ravenously.
We consume as though it will never end.
Over and over our mistakes we repeat.
When will we ever learn that…
Big oil and OPEC,
They do not love us.
