Torrential storm of random events

Beyond control your mood doth set

Thrusting outward in time repents

A heart in sorrow, forgiveness gets

I know not why I shelter inside

Negativity of others inside my mind

Or what I create I cannot hide

Instead of release ‘til death do bind

Should not happiness instill us all

Casting out that beyond control

Living in joy postpone bearer’s pall

Before its too late to corpse console

~

Random events are as they say

No path nor end hath fate defined

Life as we make and live this day

Should not be treated as a grind

~

Up to us all, our inner smile

Nourish and nurture to heart’s desire

Striving to best our every trial

Patiently dousing our temper’s fire

Easier said, more difficult to do

In this life we live on lease

Being as one with nature wrings true

Thriving and resting in peace

Sunlight stings my eyes

Previously sealed by pain

Digressions forfeit

This badge worn for mortal sin

I’m but the latest felon

What feeds man’s deceit

Is it character’s weakness

Or evil’s prodding

A mystery eternal

Just as it has always been

This Solitary Tree

This solitary tree,

Utterly alone amongst the brown grasses.

Nary a leaf can I see,

iIgnored by the traveling masses.

~

No birds find cause to seek shelter,

No buds rise to show you love.

Dry and brittle in the noonday swelter,

Limbs raised to Heaven hoping for rain from above.

What have you done to be shunned…an outcast,

Sentence too cruel for such an innocent one.

Punishment levied you’d hoped you’d outlast,

With each passing day a new days begun.

~

I look on with sorrow and the shedding of tears,

As I see myself in you, one and the same.

With scarcely a friend after all of these years,

I’ve no one to place, except me with the blame.

~

I too just as you have my soul laid out bare,

A wish for companionship to stay.

Broken and weak I expose to the air,

The longing for love I keep locked away.

The brutality of man

Drains my mortal soul

Forgotten

Little one,

You never asked to be brought into this world.

~~

Cold and cruel,

Born on the wrong side of the tracks.

~~

A mother’s love,

Can feed the soul, but the body still craves.

~~

Too young to speak,

Still your cries speak louder than any words.

~~

Sustenance is your right,

Denial would only draw covenant with your demise.

~~

Dying is inevitable,

A fact of life, but a fate undeserved to one so young.

Blamed for your station,

You live in the shadows,

Cursed by the sins of your father,

Left to scavenge at the fringes,

Only to be forgotten,

Or treated as a pariah,

By defect of conscience.
