I ache for you,
Nerve endings strain against the skin that represses them.
Agony and ecstasy bound into one vessel
Waiting to draw you close and ravage you.
This–a torture worse than a thousand deaths
I would not trade.
Nay–the devil may try to lead this soul astray,
But he will surely fail.
You, my beloved, are all that this unworthy beast desires.
The scent of your hair,
The softness of your silky skin
Caressed under my calloused hands,
Your love, though I am flawed and fragile
Is all that I desire.
I offer my heart, soul, blood and bone to you,
No conditions, free for your taking.
What more can I give than my life
Which was yours from conception.
You are my destiny, my love, my life,
The one that I live for
…And the one I would gladly die for.
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Separation pains my heart, that’s yours,
So long we’ve been together, I dread us part.
Loneliness invades with the latching door,
For fear that your love with you departs.
Foolish I know are these thoughts of you leaving,
Kindred souls we’ve become with the passage of time.
No sense does it make for my heart to be grieving,
When the love that we have has been nothing, but sublime.
Insecurity, but why, is the question to be pondered,
You’ve given me no reason to impart any concern.
Supposing instead that commitment might wander,
After all of these years you think I’d have learned.
The strength of our love has never been contested, nor ever shall it be during this life.
Nothing in this world could ever have bested, the passion that I have for you being my wife.

It occurred to me today–
Prompted by a voice,
Not in my head,
No, it came from a voice on the radio.
I’ve heard this voice a hundred times,
Heard the same questions,
Heard the same answer,
But today–
Today of all days I actually listened.
What is life?
What is living?
That’s when the light finally turned on.
It’s the glorious journey of learning how to die.
We do it daily,
We do it with every breath.
We look to our religions,
Our Gods, our souls for the answer.
Why?
In the desire to leave this world in peace
With dignity,
With the hope for something after,
Something more than this temporary existence.
And why shouldn’t we?
Are we not returning to our beginning,
To the earth,
To the air,
To the heavens,
As we have been blessed to do.

Wisdom of a child–
We do not start out hateful
This we have been taught.
Corrupted by narrow minds
Desiring to suppress.
To what end is this,
But to feed the frail ego
–A disgusting beast!
With claws and fangs it draws blood
Weaving a path called ruin.

The candle flickers
Growing ever more brilliant
As it burns through time
Not unlike my loving heart
Offered without condition
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
Nowhere and Everywhere,
All things and No-thing,
Master and Servant–God,
Acknowledging the Divine in you
Satisfies my soul
Teaching me to love others
Even more than myself.
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
In sorrows midst with tears I prayed
That you would return to offer your love.
A stubborn man, I’m a fool they say
To believe that my needs would be held above..
With independent mind, this could never be
How arrogant I was to consider it true.
I wanted to believe what I could not see
Though you never misled, I misconstrued.
Not once was my intention to hold you back
From fulfilling your dreams or destiny.
It saddens me that I turned your heart to black
By denying you all that you hoped you would be.
Patience and love are what should have been given, but to this I was utterly blind.
These are the virtues that too late I’m living, in hopes that you’ll witness if so inclined.
~~ Dominic R. DiFrancesco ~~
So much seems misguided in this world
Though perhaps it is me that is misguided, I do not know.
Is it wrong to expect more from us as a people,
To give with an open heart,
To love without consideration of race, creed or color?
Touting the sacredness of our religions,
Our freedom to worship as we please,
We are stifled,
Narrow of mind,
Driven to discriminate in the name of our God.
We preach against other free peoples,
Demanding their conformity to our world view,
Threatening hellish consequences for disobedience.
This is not freedom–
Shackled by our religions, it is we are enslaved!
Find one among us that is not simply trying to survive,
Doing the best they can in these uncertain times.
Does your Holier-Than-Thou attitude raise you above them?
Does belittling your brothers and sisters bring you closer to God?
Does freedom and equality apply to only those with whom you are in consensus?
It does not you hypocrites;
Your religion is distorted and not of God!
You are not ordained to be judge and jury
Carrying out sentence on your brethren!
Take heed of your own shortcomings,
As I am certain there are many
And this world shall be a better place.

A playful nibble
The lightest flicker of tongue
Erogenous dance

No music is required
