How Did We Arrive On This Vile Path

How did we arrive on this vile path

Where fiction and fantasy meet?

Justified in spewing their putrid rath

In droves before our feet.

They peddle not, in truth tis true

But little this seems to matter.

Sooner or later this stance they’ll rue

Once their illusions are shattered.

Never shall I understand the blind allure

Of a pompous and childish ass.

To lead the free world with temperament sure

There’s no room for any morass.

Dark are the days ahead for us, a once great and powerful nation.

For empires become superfluous, with righteous indignation.

Sanctimonious

Superiority screams arrogance

And angers those who feel slighted,

Nothing will inspire an enemy more.

Clearly we do not learn from history.

The Roman Empire fell,

Ignorance was their downfall.

More and more I see this in us.

Obviously we’ll blame it on human nature,

Never looking back at past mistakes.

It is our way…someone else is always at fault.

Offering an olive branch is seen as weakness,

Undermining our moral standing.

Surely I had hoped we were smarter than this.

Words Can Be Bullets

Words can be bullets

When fired from the wrong gun

Dangerous weapons

Hell On Earth Has Come

Hell on earth has come

Scorching both sand and pavement

Sonoran summer

NOTE: As I post this it is 103 degrees F and we have not yet reached the hottest part of our day yet. The projected temperature by Saturday is slated to be 118 degrees F.  Summer has arrived in Arizona!

A Lick On The Face

Our newest boy Oliver

Our newest boy Oliver

A lick on the face

Puppy thankful for his new home

Welcome Oliver

The newest family member

And our sixth four legged kid

Kim Jong Un Weighs In

Kim Jong Un weighs in

Donald Trump must be our guy

Good enough for me

Hypocrites And Fools

Hypocrites and fools

We look to them for guidance

What did we expect

When lies came ‘round to bite us

I hope the Kool-Aid was good

O’ The Tangled Web

O’ the tangled web

Woven for personal gain

Clouding our judgement

Until we find it’s too late

And regret has bankrupt us

This, the path we choose

Chosen many times before

Has not deterred us

We are creatures of habit

Believing a fool’s wisdom

I Love You Young One

I love you young one

Your little quirks and your laugh

Jokes at my expense

Being your father and friend

Is all I could have hoped for

Your Beliefs Guide You…

Your beliefs guide you…or misguide you

Like the dam trains the river.

We are born to know no hate,

No prejudice,

No racism,

No ascension of color,

This must be taught…instilled

By those who influence the young and malleable.

Children do not see difference,

To them a playmate is a playmate is a playmate

Until it is ruined by age.

O’ for us all to be children again,

Blind to race, creed and color

Returning the world to its purity,

Its wonder,

Its innocence,

Where we all would live in peace.
